Meet Dr Pierre-Alain Hueber MD, PHD
Dr. Hueber is a dual board certified American (American Board of Urology) and Canadian (Royal College of Surgeon of Canada) urologist specialized and fellowship-trained, in Urological Cancer (Prostate Cancer, Kidney Cancer and Bladder Cancer) and Robotic Surgery. He also has an expertise in novel Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIS) for Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH) including Robotic Aquablation and a special interest in Men’s Health.
Based in Santa Barbara, Dr. Hueber provides his patients with the most advanced urology care available today in tertiary academic centers in Central California. His approach is based on the most recent scientific findings, using the latest cutting-edge technology, combined with a personalized and holistic approach.
Education and Training
Dr. Hueber completed his MD and Urology residency at University of Montreal, Canada. During his residency, he was trained by world renown leaders in the field of Prostate Cancer (Dr. Fred Saad MD, Dr. Pierre Karackievicz MD) and leaders in the field of Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia treatment (Dr. Kevin Zorn MD and Dr. Naeem Bhojani MD).
He then went on to complete an additional 2 years in an Advanced Robotic Surgery and Oncology fellowship at University of Southern California Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center in Los Angeles under the mentorship of Internationally recognized pioneers in the field of Robotic Surgery including Dr Inderbir Gill MD and Dr Rene Sotelo MD.
Dr. Hueber also holds a PhD in Experimental Medicine from McGill University. His research focus was finding novel targeted therapy for the treatment of renal cancer. Dr Hueber has presented his work at various International conferences (Barcelona, Milan, Geneva, Rio de Janeiro, Buenos Aires, Istanbul) and has published in leading journals in the field. As a researcher, Dr Hueber has authored over 50 peer-reviewed publications, several book chapters and editorials.
