What is Urolift?

  • UroLift is a minimally-invasive procedure that inserts a stitch device that pulls back the prostate tissue that is pressing on the urethra to improve urine flow

  • The lift device opens the urethra directly by retracting the obstructing prostatic lobes without incisions, surgical resection or thermal injury to the prostate

  • Treatment with the UroLift® System is typically a solution that provides rapid relief of BPH symptoms without the risks of more invasive surgery

How does Urolift work?

  • UroLift Delivery Device: inserted transurethrally through a rigid sheath under cystoscopic visualization to reach the targeted area of obstruction

  • UroLift Implant: the obstructing prostatic lobes are held apart by small permanent UroLift Implants that are deployed by the delivery device. Each implant is made with common implantable materials: nitinol, stainless steel, and PET suture. Typically, four implants are placed into the prostate

  • The UroLift System treatment has demonstrated a significant improvement in quality of life for patients compared to medications

  • The UroLift System does not cause new and lasting erectile or ejaculatory dysfunction, while being a safe and effective treatment of lower urinary tract symptoms due to BPH

Why choose Urolift?

  • Alternative to BPH medications

  • Can be done as an “in-office” procedure or day surgery

  • Rapid relief and recovery

  • Less risks than more invasive ablative surgery

  • No erectile or ejaculatory dysfunction

  • Proven durability up to 5 years

  • Best for patients with prostate size < 50 cc and in which there is no median lobe
